Date:2019-04-28 17:08:57 Posted by:eva.xu View:333Flex Power Modules has introduced a range of wide input range DC-DC converters for industrial and railways use, encapsulated for reliable operation in harsh conditions, in a 2 x 1in (~50 x 25mm) package.
PKE8000A is for industrial use, with its 9-75V input covering 12V, 24V or 48V supply voltages in one go. 40W is available at the output, at a choice of 3.3, 5, 12 or 15V depending on model. In-to-out isolation is 2.25kVdc.
PKE7000A is for railway use, with a 43-160V input, suiting it to “the majority of on-board requirements running from 72V and 110V nominal”, said the firm
“The PKE-A series is just one of a range of products we are introducing to support industrial and railways applications,” said Flex Power business development director Olle Hellgren.
PKE8000A and PKE7000A families are available now.
Devices meet the latest IEC/EN/UL62368-1 safety standards, and MTBF is up to 4 million hours.
Up to 30W is available at the output, at 5, 12, 24 or 48V depending on model.
Devices comply with the EN50155 railway standard, and MTBF is up to 5 million hours.

Flex bought this former Ericsson power module business. A CM making its own brand of products is a new thing in the industry, certainly not a good thing for other businesses in the competing sector. CMs will make everything dirt cheap and are the killers of a healthy business food chain. However, they might not do it well enough to sustain the business. They tend to provide poor services to their customers as they just don't have the mindset and the structure to do so. Their low cost mind tends to drive their good engineers away which will diminish their competitiveness over time. Anyway, stay away from these guys if you could.
