Thanks Wing Aviation, Google’s drone unit, has got certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration to deliver goods by drone in the State of  Virginia.

“This is an important step forward for the safe testing and integration of drones into our economy. Safety continues to be our Number One priority as this technology continues to develop and realize its full potential,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

One person can control five drones which do not have to be in line of sight and can fly over populated areas.

Wing is a partner with the Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership and Virginia Tech  in the Transportation Department’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration Pilot Program.

Wing has a drone delivery service active in Canberra, Australia and plans trials in Helsinki.
