Infineon has announced a housing-less diode family is designed for medium frequency resistance welding and high current rectifier applications.

38 mm, 46 mm, 56 mm and 65mm diameters with a blocking voltage of 600 V:

38DN06B02 600V, 5.8kA* (100°C), 6.5 kA (85°C) 960mV (4.5kA), 38mm, dia 4mm thick

46DN06B02 5.1kA (118°C) 46mm dia, 4mm thick

56DN06B02  600V, 10.3kA (100°C), 11.6kA (85°C) 940mV (8kA,) 56mm dia, 5mm thick

65DN06B02  600V, 12.8kA (100°C), 14.4kA  (85°C) 980mV (8kA), 65mm dia, 5mm thickcurrents are average

* stated at 8.075kA elsewhere

“We designed the welding diodes 38DN06B02, 56DN06B02 and 65DN06B02 with improved losses for medium frequency resistance welding and high current rectifier applications,” according to the company. “The low on-state voltage allows very high forward current up to 25% more than our current types.”
