Using the PMBus for digital control

Date:2019-04-04 00:26:27 Posted by:michael View:608

Power Management Bus (PMBus) is a standard way to communicate with power converters over a digital communication bus. PMBus is a two wire communication protocol based on I2C and the speed can be up to 1Mbit/s. The protocol defines many specific commands rather than just saying how to communicate. Therefore, it allows digital control of a power supply using the PMBus commands, such as ON/OFF control, output voltage setting, monitoring and so on. The PMBus can give you easy design and flexible control. For more information, please visit www.PMBus.org.
